Corey Sandquist*

Prior to starting Sandquist Law & Project Consulting, Corey practiced law with an international law firm and then in-house for the largest publicly traded Canadian construction company.  Corey has extensive experience throughout the project lifecycle with mining, pipeline construction, heavy industrial and oil sands infrastructure, cogeneration facilities and transportation infrastructure projects.  In addition , Corey has experience in employment standards and wrongful dismissal suits, builder's liens, construction litigation, commercial litigation, occupational health and safety law, security services law and municipal law. Corey has appeared at all levels of the Alberta Courts.

Corey grew up in Northern Alberta and moved to Edmonton to complete a Bachelor of Commerce degree, majoring in finance and graduating "with honours" at the University of Alberta in 2005.  Corey completed his Juris Doctorate at the University of Alberta in 2008 and was called to the Alberta Bar in 2009.  Corey has completed the Osgoode University Certificate in Mining Law and completed a leadership and executive development course at the Ivey School of Business in London, Ontario. In addition, Corey is involved in the industry and has done presentations that include:

  • Corey founded the Western Chapter of the Construction Sector In-House Counsel Forum, an organization of construction sector in-house counsel in Western Canada that meet and discuss current issues.

Andrew McLeod (Contract Counsel)

Andrew joined Sandquist Law and Project Consulting in 2015 as a Student-at-Law and was called to the bar in November 2016.  Now, Andrew works closely with SLCPC on a contract and research basis, assisting on certain matters and providing a cost-efficient resource for its clients.

 

Prior to pursuing a career in law and obtaining his Juris Doctor from the University of Manitoba, Andrew attended the University of Calgary where he earned his Bachelor of Commerce with a focus in accounting and strategic management. Andrew has extensive experience in risk management, collections, contract law, and compliance and has worked with one of Canada's largest financial institutions as well as a Western Canadian Engineering and Procurement firm. He and his partner live in Calgary, with their dog, Ella.
